About Us

Double L Media was founded in January of 2008 by Michael J. Smith, a journalist with nearly a decade of experience writing, producing, and editing various forms of media content. Smith started LLM to manage the technical and promotional direction of his blog, Lead-Lap.com.

LLM began rolling out Lead-Lap.com in February of 2008. On April 23rd, the first version of the site launched on WordPress.com.

In May of 2009, LLM began working on a redesign of Lead-Lap.com that included a move to its own domain. Lead-Lap.com changed from an all-text format to a layout more consistent with an online news organization.

In June of 2009, LLM launched Lead-Lap.com version 2.0 and the site’s Twitter page. Earlier this year, LLM introduced its Facebook page. LLM also began minor promotion of Lead-Lap.com’s content through link sharing and social bookmarking sites.

LLM also managed the SEO optimization of Lead-Lap.com, and worked on several new features to enhance the reader experience and keep people coming back to the site.
